They were obviously working on something, but it doesn't appear to be the cottage at Woodhull or the house in Royal Oak. If this photo was taken later than we think, it may have been at the first house of Irving & Bernice after their marriage.

These photos of Henya (Shostak) Burko and David Burko were probably taken in 1948, after the State of Israel was created, since that was when they issued I. D. cards. These pictures were in their I.D. cards.

The three pictures where there are three children were taken in late 1954, judging by the baby sister's age (she was born in Aug 1954). The children are Yael, Shuka (Yehoshua) and Sima.

In the bottom left picture are Yael and Sima.

This was sometime around the marriage of Doris Barill & Gene Gottlieb, because I can see members from both families in this photograph.

Obviously a celebration of some sort, Rifka & Louis Barill are to the back right, Sheila Barill is at middle left, I think the others are Montreal Burkos.

This is the only photograph known of the brothers Baril that emigrated to Israel. During the 1960's, the families lost touch and were not reunited until 2008.

To play Carmen Miranda, Irv had to shave most of his body and learn to walk in heels. He wasn't a fan of high heels, but he really hated it when the hair started to grow back. His little sister Sheila, remembers how he complained about how much it itched. "I can't believe you girls do this on purpose!" he said.
