Bariel_1917.jpg

1917 -- A picture of Dina Brill Schuck and 3 of her children.

1917 -- A picture of Dina Brill Schuck and 3 of her children. Dina married Henry Schuck in Vladimirets and is listed as Dina Brill and Dina Bariel in various records. She is probably related to the Barills, since all 3 variations have the same spelling in Hebrew, but we haven't linked the trees yet. (Henry Shuck is probably also related to us via the Schuck/Shuken branch.)

The children in the photo (L to R) are: Sophie, Milton & Jean (Jenny).

Bubbe Charna (Teitleboim) Burko, the midwife

Bubbe Charna the midwife was both well-known and beloved throughout Vladimirets and the surrounding region. She delivered generations of Vladimirets babies, and served as a nurse when necessary. She never asked for pay. When she was too old to continue, her daughter took over as midwife.
